Going On Holiday

On Monday morning we are off on holiday to Italy! We are flying from East Midlands ariport to Venice and then aer being adventurous enough to take two seperate buses to the camp site where we will be spending a week in a mobile home. I have packed my knitting and picked six books to read, so will probably spend most of my time doing that. There is a pool and we have a daytrip to Venice planned, but today we had to go into town and buy swimming hats as for some reason it is the law in Italy to wear them. I’m not overly enthusiastic, personally I would spend my money on something else, but I have no complaints except for the fact that I have very little time to do my homework!

DnD Day & Ray Tracing

I want round to Kvetch’s house today for a Dungeons and Dragons session. We didn’t make too much progress but it was still fun. There were only two characters, I was playing a elven cleric and Matt was playing a elven monk, and we started off adventuring through sewers looking for a powerful magic book that had been stolen. Then we interrogated a captured bandit and discovered that the book was being held in a tower out in the forest. After getting cleaned up from our sewer jouney (we had all fallen in multiple times – but it seemed to be mainly my character), we travelled into the forest. All went well until we were attacked by harpies and nearly died (again), but we eventually got within visual range of the tower from my polearm of flight. The owners of the tower had considerable magical resources because we found ourselves under heavy attack from an iron golem, and had to retreat as it was very strong. Eventually we made it into the tower using an underground passage and had to fight stained-glass windows that were golems in disguise – weird, huh? And that is where the session ended. As you can see, we got very little done.

Lunch time was interesting. We battled with the cheese-toastie maker for quite some time until we got our food. Kvetch also showed me a technique for making graphics by describing them in code, see this page for my work on this topic. It’s reasonably good but I find it hard to do.

MMORPG & Blog Comments

I’ve started work on a small text-based MMORPG. If anyone is interested in helping to develop it or alpha test it, then please leave a comment on this post stating your wishes. The idea of this game is that the player controls a moving city which roams about the landscape looking for resources and fighting other cities. The idea will be to build up the biggest army by collecting metal and forging weapons, training your people into troops and farming for food so that you can feed your population.

Someone has been posting comments on my blog and I really want to know who it is, so please could they identify themselves so I can get in touch? Thanks!

Charity Bands Added To Other Sites

I’ve added the charity band to this blog, and to the library website! I also forgot to mention the originator, Joe Cavan, so thanks Joe for the good idea!
